The Last Time- A Poem
42
In the walk of life and wake of time,
A few things were left out.
You stood by in stranger tides,
Held my hand in bumpier rides.
All our lives, we grew up together.
By my side, you were forever.
I lived my life just for you,
A fairy tale of ‘Happily Ever After.‘
And today,
I stand over your grave.
With a torn heart,
Somebody snatched away an integral part,
Of my love, of my life.
For the last time,
I want you to stand up.
Give me hug and kiss me forever,
Defy death and not go back,
Don’t leave my side ever.
But you remain silent, soundly asleep.
Testing me, smiling, from your eternal bed.
You weren’t here anymore, you weren’t mine.
I wanted you to stand up.
Give me hug and kiss me forever,
But it did not happen,
Just this last time.

An extraordinary poem that anyone who has lost a loved one can relate to. This is very beautiful and has left a mark on my heart.
You are sometimes too wise for your years.
A beautiful moving poem rag, it is sad when we lose a loved one but we must move on but never forget them. Cheers
"You weren't here anymore. You weren't mine."
As long as you can write these words, they remain in your heart forever. Memories live on forever, as I hope your expressions of feeling do, mar.
Very well said.
My friend I to have stood over the graves of many I've lost with sorrow in my heart, we've spoke in the silence of the day/night and understood that time is eternal and that one day I to will cross over to the other dimension and touch their finger tips with mine and we would once again share the wine and sip each others joy with delight. Peace my friend, you are not alone....never.....

A very poignant and heartrending poem ragha. Perhaps those we love with all our hearts are on another journey, always protected by the ultimate love we're all a part of forever.
